It’s the season for pumpkins and more fall activities. Here are 7 pumpkin patches and seasonal parks in Western Wake.
🎃 Phillips Farms Family Fun Park (opens Saturday): A ticketed outdoor seasonal fair in Cary, with a corn maze, sunflower field, swings, slides, trains, a petting zoo, a toddler-sized “town,” mini golf and a giant corn box. After its opening Saturday, regular hours will be 4-8 p.m. Thursdays, 3-6 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays, and 1-6 p.m. Sundays.
🎃 The Family Farm on Avent Ferry (season opens Saturday): The Holly Springs farms’ pumpkin season begins Saturday. Then the hours will be 11 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays and 1-6 p.m. Sundays. Waves shaved ice and picnic tables are on site to hang out. While you’re there, see the cows, donkeys, horses, chickens, and farm cats on the family farm (don’t feed or pet unless you get the OK from an employee).
🎃 Neighbor Boy Farm (open now): It’s pumpkin season at this market in Apex. Mums are for sale, along with pumpkins, lemonade, ice cream, other produce and treats. Check its Facebook page for specific hours, which vary.
🎃 Ragan & Holly’s Pumpkin Patch (opening soon): The Jean’s Market in Apex is hinting that the pumpkin season transition is on the way. Expect mini donuts on Saturdays, photo opportunities, and Halloween decor for sale.
🎃 DJ’s Berry Patch (season opening soon): The open-air market in Apex is currently selling summer produce and accepting bulk orders for pumpkins. In the past, DJ’s has had old tractors and photo ops for shoppers. A special fall festival will be 9 a.m.-1 p.m. October 3, with vendors and fall activities.
🎃 A little further out: Naylor Farm in Fuquay-Varina (opening Saturday), Page Farms in northwest Raleigh (opening Saturday).
