The all-day cafe specializing in crepes, waffles, eggs, sandwiches, salads, and other fare quietly opened in Fenton this week, with grand opening details to come.
It’s notably the first spot to get breakfast or coffee with indoor seating in the development.
Carriage House Coffee, a truck parked on the green, served as the only coffee option up to this point, though there’s a coffee bar planned for the under-construction Pagemore Hotel and served at the forthcoming doughnut shop, The Salty.
The atmosphere: An upscale fast-casual restaurant, unlike the other restaurants at Fenton, which are full-service or takeaway only. The indoor dining room is light and bright with chandeliers and Tiffany blue and white walls with blonde wooden wainscoting. Chic rattan bistro chairs and white marble-top tables are set up indoors and outdoors for after you’ve ordered at the counter.
The food menu: Sections for sweet and savory crepes take the largest real estate on the menu, which you can see made through waist-high windows as you approach the counter to order.
Crepes range from traditional options, like Nutella or preserves and sweet cream, to more unique offerings, like “the steakhouse,” with sirloin steak, stroganoff sauce, onions, mushrooms, and mozzarella cheese. Any of the crepes can be made with gluten-free and vegan batter for $1.95 more.
I went traditional savory, with a ham and gruyere crepe with dijon mustard, fresh oregano, and a béchamel sauce. It came with a side salad of arugula, parmesan cheese, and a dijon vinaigrette.
The drinks: Besides the typical espresso bar beverages, there are signature lattes with flavors like Nutella and Tiramisu, matcha lattes, and a hot chocolate menu.
Leaning into the French cafe vibes, they offer wine-based spritzes, a variety of mimosas, beer, wine, and Champagne.
