Downtown businesses in Holly Springs, from restaurants to specialty shops, are offering specials this Friday through August 29.
The idea bubbled up as part of the 150th celebrations for the town, Holly Springs Communications Director Cassie Hack told The Line.
“We knew that a restaurant week would be a great way to honor the small businesses who provide such great restaurants, fun bars, and sweet treats that keep people coming back for more,” Hack said. “For those who’ve never been to Downtown Holly Springs, a restaurant week is a perfect excuse to discover new places while celebrating the history of this charming town.”
Here’s what to know about the prix fixe (or fixed-price) menus from participating businesses:
🥪 My Way Tavern (Holly Springs): The neighborhood joint will offer a $15 “throwback menu” with sandwich options including The Tony (roast beef, cheddar cheese, horsey sauce), The Louis (fried shrimp), The Sammy (blackened mahi-mahi), and The Noonan (house-made chicken salad with Swiss cheese). All are served with wedge fries at that price.
- Fun fact: The centerpiece of My Way Tavern is a horseshoe-shaped bar made from reclaimed barn wood that’s even older than the town.
- Find it: 301 W. Center Street, Holly Springs. Open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight.
🐦 Nightingale Rooftop Restaurant & Bar: The rooftop restaurant created a four-course prix fixe dinner special for restaurant week. The $65 per person menu includes a choice of salad (think burrata with aged balsamic or watermelon and ricotta salata) and either a crispy squash blossom filled with ricotta or a mango shrimp summer roll for the second course. Entree options include a seared steak loin with wild mushroom ragout or seared cod with a tarragon-citrus beurre blanc. It ends with two choices for dessert: mango sorbet or chocolate pot de creme.
- Fun fact: While part of the rooftop is fully open, much of it is indoors or covered, lest the heat or weather give you pause.
- Find it: 300 S. Main Street, Suite 312, Holly Springs. Reservations available online. Open 5-10 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sundays for brunch.
🫖 Pimiento Tea Room: A $30 “Tour of Pimiento Tea Room” includes a house-made cream or vegan and gluten-free scone with one flavored butter (try the Cinnamon Brown Sugar), a scoop of pimento cheese and Saltine crackers or peach hummus and Frito chips, a choice between two salads, and either a bowl of Brunswick stew or turtle bean soup. Top it off with either a white chocolate and butterscotch bread pudding or the cherry apricot shortbread.
- Fun fact: The restaurant is located in the Brown-Holloway House, c. 1840, one of the oldest buildings in town. While it maintains its historic charm, the owners, Matt and Christy Griffith, livened it up during the renovation with bright wallpaper, chandeliers, playful art, and neon signs.
- Find it: 200 N. Main Street, Holly Springs. Open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Sunday service is by reservation only.
☕ Fable Books & Cafe: “The Fable 150” menu includes one of two options. There’s the $15 option, with a breakfast or lunch sandwich and choice of hot latte, cold brew, lemonade or tea. Or, add a choice of pastry (ask which are included) for $20.
- Fun fact: The bookstore and cafe hosts a few events each week, including a weekly ACOTAR (A Court of Thorns and Roses, by Sarah J. Maas) read-along social in anticipation of the next two books in the series set to release this year.
- Find it: 219 Raleigh Street, Holly Springs. Regular hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays, and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sundays.
🍝 Mamma Mia! Italian Bistro: A three-course dinner menu is offered at $35 per person. The first course includes a choice of one appetizer or salad, including items like a “caprese tower” or zucchini fritta. The second course is a choice from seven pasta entrees. A choice of dessert is the third course, either tiramisu, cannoli, or Limoncello Mascarpone Cake.
- Fun fact: The Naples, Italy-born owner, Ciro Formisano, originally opened the Mamma Mia! Apex restaurant more than 20 years ago. He sold it to his daughter in 2019, then opened up the Holly Springs location.
- Find it: 300 S. Main Street, Suite 200, Holly Springs. Weekday lunch hours are 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Weekday dinner hours are 4 -9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 4-10 p.m. Fridays. On Saturday, the restaurant is open 1-10 p.m., and it’s closed Sundays.
